View fullsize Nice little Felsa 4122 - just 17mm. A really nice movement to work with, although the escape wheel teeth are perilously unprotected. Moveable stud always gets extra points. #watchmaking

View fullsize Valjoux 7730 - the engine in a Heuer Autavia. Nice movement to work on - not too many springs; easy to adjust the various tooth depths.
View fullsize Picked up a National Time Recorder punching-in clock and its master clock. Sold by The National Time Recorder company in Temple Bar, Dublin. I know nothing about this type of clock - so a fun project!

View fullsize I don’t know how it’s possible to scratch a roller, but boy howdy did this cost me a lot of time! Symptoms included stopping completely if the train power was reversed, and slow rate in one hanging position. #characterbuilding

View fullsize Troublesome IWC! Battery change kinda helped, but timekeeping was erratic. The thin line of glue holding the crystal to the circuit board had dried out, so years of vibration had loosened a solder joint. Lousy design. Reflowed the solder, all is well
View fullsize A moody shot of an Excelsior Park chronograph, early 50s. I believe their movements were also used by Zenith, GP and others. Glorious. Wish it was mine.
View fullsize A nearly factory-fresh Medana, still with its tag, from the mid-40’s. I believe Medana was budget brand of Roamer. Pin-pallet escapement, sadly, but a nice survivor.
